Meet the Staff

Ingela Bergman Persson


Headmaster of IB (no picture yet...)

Ingela Bergman Persson has a degree in social studies and human resources. She is a qualified teacher for upper-secondary level and has been teaching social studies. Since 1999 she has been working as a headmaster. She has been a head of the non-compulsory school system in Degerfors i.e. the upper secondary school, municipal adult education, the upper secondary education for pupils with learning disabilities and for adults with learning disabilities. For the last five years she has been one of the headmasters at Rudbecksskolan in Örebro and was also one of the initiator of starting the DP programme at Rudbecksskolan. She is filled with fervour to promote intercultural understanding.

Daniel Broadley


IB Team Leader and teacher of Economics & Theory of Knowledge
D. Broadley
Daniel Broadley  was first acquainted with the Swedish schooling system when he was chosen as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in 1997. After completing his exchange in Sweden he returned to Australia and was four years later awarded a Bachelor of Commerce (with merit) from one of Australia's top universities. Seeking international experience with his qualifications, he moved from Sydney to the UK. Upon arrival in London he was recruited into one of the world's largest recruitment companies in the UK. After gainful employment in London and travel in Europe, he returned to Australia to complete a Graduate Diploma of Education after which he moved to Örebro to start his teaching career.

Mikaela Weber


CAS Coordinator

Mikaela Weber has been working as a teacher in English, Physical Education and Health and Aerobics at Rudbecksskolan since 2001 and started as the CAS Coordinator in the IB-team in 2009. In addition to her role as CAS coordinator, Mikaela teaches Physical Education and Health to the PreDP students and on the SPRINT programme.  She has studied English at Uppsala University and Physical Education and Health at Örebro University. In her spare time she enjoys all kinds of sports, aerobics in particular, being an aerobics instructor. Another main interest is travelling, and she has lived in the U.S for one year.

Åsa Gustafsson


teacher of Geography (no picture yet...)

Åsa Gustafsson came to work at Rudbecksskolan in 2006 and joined the IB team from the start in 2009. Besides teaching Geography on the IB programme, she teaches Civics and History to PredP. Åsa recieved her education at Örebro university, and has taught for thirteen years. Prior to the IB, she taught on the SPRINT programme (Content and Language Integrated Learning, CLIL).

Ann-Christin Heerman

Ann-Christine Heerman has been working at Rudbecksskolan since 2007 and joined the IB team in 2011. Besides teaching Mathematics on the IB programme, Ann-Christin teaches Biology/Science and Mathematics on other programmes, including SPRINT. She has a Master's Degree in Science with a major in Biology and has also been studying English at the University of Umeå. Ann-Christin is interested in how we can enhance and develop students' communication in mathematics and science.

Lieselotte Höppe Persson

L. Höppe Persson
Lieselotte Höppe Persson started off her career as a student and teacher at the University of Cincinnati. Besides teaching English and German on the IB programme, she is a teacher of special education. Lieselotte is an "inquirer", she is "principled", "open-minded" and "caring" - qualities she tries to convey to her IB students. Working with students who need extra help and support during their years at Rudbecksskolan is also something she gives priority to.

Mårten Persson

M. Persson
A former graduate student in Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mårten Persson is a highly respected and much appreciated teacher among his students, whose verdict is unequivocal: "Never stop teaching!"

Anne-Sophie Skalin


teacher of Swedish and English
A-S. Skalin
Besides being specialized in oral and written communication and an ardent literature teacher, Anne-Sophie Skalin has a Master´s Degree in School Leadership. Most recently, she was involved in the initiation and implementation of an ongoing formative assessment project embracing all public upper-secondary schools in the municipality of Örebro, including Rudbecksskolan.

Linus Trulsson


teacher of Physics and Mathematics
L. Trulsson
Linus Trulsson was recruited by the IB-team at Rudbecksskolan in 2010. Prior to that he studied at the University of Washington and the University of Gothenburg, where he received his Master's Degree in Physics. In 2009 he was invited to present his thesis about probabilistic neutron tracking algorithms at the annual meeting of the Swedish FAIR Consortium and the Nuclear Physics Division of the Swedish Physical Society.

Maria Törnblom


teacher of Biology
M. Törnblom
Maria Törnblom has worked at Rudbecksskolan since 1999 and on the IB programme since the start in 2009. She is very interested in developing IT in biology and in 2011, she reached the top level of PIM (Practical IT and Media competence) arranged by Skolverket (the Swedish National Agency for Education). Apart from that, Experimental design, which is an important part of IB Biology, is one of her main interests as well as sustainable development. Besides teaching Biology on the IB programme, Maria teaches Chemistry through English (SPRINT) and environmental courses.
