Facilities Open to the Public
Salon Oscaria
Virginska skolan has its own hairdressers which is open to the public. It is fully equipped and stocks a range of hair products. Customers can make an appointment or drop in. They can receive everything from a facial and a manicure to having their hair bleached or permed.
Ateljé Oscaria
You can order jackets, skirts, trousers, blouses, shirts, dresses or gowns sewn to your own requirements by the clothing and fashion students.
Lilla Hotellet
´Lilla Hotellet´ (The Little Hotel) has a fully operational reception that takes bookings for rooms and conferences. There are three hotel rooms, all the rooms are en-suite and breakfast is provided. There are also three conference rooms with cloakroom facilities. The conference rooms vary in size, the largest being able to take groups of up to 70 guests. Guests have the option of eating in the catering department´s restaurant in the same building.
Restaurant
The restaurant can seat up to 80 customers and is open for weekday lunches and one evening a week. It has a warm and cold kitchen where the students prepare buffets, set menus or á la carte dishes.
Buffet restaurant
The buffet restaurant is open for lunch. There is a salad bar and meat, fish or vegetarian options and sometimes desserts as well.
Shop
There is a school shop where members of the public can buy fresh and frozen produce made by the food technology or catering programmes. The shop sells main courses, bread, cakes and confectionary.

Catering Facilities
The school has two dining rooms for staff and students. Lunch is served from 11.00. Details of menus are planned for the whole year and posted on the school´s TV network daily. Options for meals normally consist of a salad bar, a meat or fish dish and a vegetarian option. The school is legally obliged to provide meals catered for those with special dietary requirements.
Bakery
The school has a working bakery including matador (pizza) and walk in ovens, a damp room, and machinery used for both traditional styles of baking and for large-scale baking needs — production lines, pastry-sheets, dough rollers etc so the students become familiar with all production methods.
Clothing and Fashion
The students have 2 large workshops at their disposal. The rooms have space for cutting, hemming and have modelling busts. Both rooms contain different types of sewing machines — overlockers, single and twin-needle, and blind stitch. There are also irons and ironing boards for use. Students have to provide their own materials plus scissors, pins and tape measures.
Hairdressing
As well as Salon Oscaria there are two large workshops where students can practice on dolls´ heads or each other. These rooms are equipped with basins, mirrors, and everything that a salon requires.
